A Quick Look at the Evolution of Distance Learning

Distance learning is nothing new! A Distance Education and the Evolution of Online Learning in the United States study by Hope E. Kentnor, Ph.D. at the University of Denver reveals that shows that this method started in the late 1800s and rose to popularity in the 1900s.

It is possible to teach every branch of human knowledge with motion pictures. Our school system will be completely changed inside of ten years.”

And then the pandemic happened (and still happening), hammering the educational sector. All over the world, there were orders to close down their major establishments—educational institutions included

But because learning simply cannot stop, schools were plunged into the next best alternative: online learning. The traditional face-to-face classroom setup had to go; distance education is now the new norm.
